🐀 Is The Vw 1.0 Tsi Engine Reliable
Hi I'm a 24 year old looking to buy my first car with my own finances, and am seriously considering purchasing a mk6 2019 Polo 1.0 TSI with about 10 000~15 000km on it. I test drove the car today and loved how it drived, and really like the changes VW made to the car in it's mk6 model. My only real concern is the reliability of the turbo
I just sold my car and will soon purchase a new one (probably a used one with 1-2 years on it). I decided on a Volkswagen up! with an EA211 1.0 TSI engine. I have heard from many different people (at least here in Brazil) that Volkswagen’s engines invariably call for rebuilds around the 100,000 km mark, and sometimes even sooner.
As the TBHP review mentions, "this engine begs to be driven hard"! Had the chance to take it for a spin on the highways. The engine stays around 2000 rpm at 100 kmph, doesn't feel strained at all. The is more than enough grunt on offer even at 100 kmph. At 120 kmph, the low frequency engine vibrations start to creep into the cabin.
The Polo is bigger than ever, but better than ever, too. It’s really spacious and good to drive, even on the motorway, and the boot has never let us down, either. Mileage: 3,921 Economy: 41.0mpg
The engine spins at a relaxed ~1,900 rpm at 100 km/h. In summary, the 1.5 TSI DSG is a jewel of a combination that will keep you happy at low revs & high, and in the city as well as on the highway. Other than its reliability woes, this is one of the best AT gearboxes sold in India. IMO the 1.5L TSI sounds great even at high revs.

There is nothing much you can do about that. But again, at the time of purchase, you might have really loved the car and what it offers at that point of time. Thus you went with the purchase. Apart from the engine performance compared to the TSI, I don't think you are missing many. Take the positive sides of the car and enjoy the car when you
Until the arrival of the 2,0-litre GTI model, the subject of this test is the current range-topper, the 1,0 TSI Highline. Whereas all models in the current Polo range share VW’s 999 cm 3 turbopetrol engine, the version in the two Highline derivatives is tuned to deliver an extra 15 kW and 25 N.m. This more powerful engine is – like the 70
